Tegan Hale is an emerging contemporary artist from the Gold Coast, Australia known for her art direction within the local independent film industry, award winning graphic design and large format photorealistic portraiture.

Deeply inspired by traditional Western occultism, Tegan celebrates her work as the meeting between matter and spirit but recognises that she “is simply the conduit through which the creative ether may crystallise itself within this particular time-space.”.

Only seven shades of grey are used in Tegan’s photorealistic artworks. The strict monochromatic palette transitioning from black to white represents a union of dualities, an homage to Hermetic philosophy from which she says she draws her deepest inspiration.

Working with industrial sign writing substrates, Tegan’s artworks are constructed by layering self adhesive vinyl onto aluminium composite panels. She has described the creative limitations imposed by utilising industrial materials as a fine art medium as “the ultimate creative freedom” and plans to continue to push the limits of her craft in intricacy, scope and size.

Tegan is currently working on a new collection entitled "Dark Light”. This vulnerable series will offer a dark yet optimistic insight into her turbulent Saturn's Return, with the destruction and reconciliation of her 'self' on full display.
